This Week in Books: ‘The Giver’ and a YA Panel

It’s that time of the week y’all — excuse my cadence, I’ve been in Georgia all week. Despite the geography, I’m here to give you some highlights of the literary community. Readings for fiction and poetry galore! Check ’em out.

Tuesday, August 5

Summer Series: Latasha N. Nevada Diggs, Justin Marks & Bianca Stone at NYPL Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, 6pm, FREE

Wednesday, August 6

Mónica de la Torre, Lanny Jordan Jackson, & Wendy Lotterman Poetry Reading at The Hifi Bar, 8pm-10pm, one drink minimum

Thursday, August 7

YA Author Panel hosted by Jessica Verdi at McNally Jackson, 7 pm, FREE

Friday, August 8

Jeff Bridges & Lois Lowry at 92Y, 7pm, $15-30* from what I understand.

*I know (ugh) it stinks that this is paid but I figured people should know if you’re a huge fan of The Giver or Lois Lowry. Or maybe you really like Jeff Bridges and his voice in those battery commercials.

Saturday, August 9

Your literary event is reading on your own. That’s free and can be anytime you want!

Sunday, August 10

Monday, August 11

Franklin Park Reading Series for “Indie” authors at Franklin Park, 8 pm, FREE
